Facebook On Airtel

Free Access To Facebook On Airtel Users:

In the face of back-breaking competition in the telecom sector in India, not a single service provider would wish to take out some time for a short nap. Some way or the other, each one is eying on to grab a pie from the total market share. And same goes with one of the biggest telecom company Bharti Airtel, which on Monday announced a long-term partnership with the worldwide famous Social networking service Facebook.

Under this partnership, Airtel would offer the full mobile website of popular social networking service Facebook free of charge to its subscribers across the country. Valid for two-months (till August 31), Airtel mobile customers will be able to access the Facebook’s full mobile site faster and at no data cost via m.facebook.com.

Airtel customers who are Facebook users will be able to post status updates, comment and write on walls, message others, view or upload photos – almost everything they had been doing on Facebook, all without any data charges!

  • The Facebook’s mobile site will be initially available in English and Hindi, while five more languages — Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam — would be rolled out globally for the first time on Airtel by July 15.
  • For existing mobile internet customers on Airtel, there is no need to do anything – you can immediately start connecting with your friends by visiting the Facebook mobile site. Whereas the customers accessing the mobile internet for the first time, need to simply SMS ‘FACEBOOK’ to 54321 to take advantage of this special offer.

Bharti Airtel CMO (Mobile Services) Shireesh Joshi was found stating that “Our mobile customers will also be the first in the world to enjoy Facebook on their Airtel mobile in five vernacular languages. All these reiterate our commitment to customers to offer the best value-for-money services that enable their lifestyles.”

Facebook Head of Mobile Business Henri Moissinac, said “working closely with Bharti Airtel is a great opportunity to bring our full mobile experience to its 13-crore customers across India. Today, more than 10-crore Facebook users around the world access the site through their mobile devices.”
